Banda




Banda, the headquarters of Banda District, is situated near the Ken River, in Uttar Pradesh. Banda is 220 km south of Lucknow.

Natural colored stones recovered from the riverbed form the major export of the town. It is also a major agricultural market of the district.

The 18th century fort of Kalinjar in the outskirts of Banda is worth a visit.

The nearest airport is at Lucknow. Banda Railway Station is on the Jhansi- Allahabad line. The National Highway 76 passes through Banda and the town is connected by road to Kanpur, Allahabad and Lucknow.
