Kheoni Wildlife Sanctuary




Kheoni Wildlife Sanctuary, established in 1955, is situated in Dewas District, Madhya Pradesh. Spread over an area of 123 sq km, its rich dry deciduous forest, which mainly consists of teak and bamboo species, is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna.

Major animal species found here include chital, sambar, blue bull, four-horned antelope, wild boar and barking deer. The sanctuary is also rich in birdlife.

The best time to visit the sanctuary is from April to June.

The nearest airport is at Bhopal. Harda Railway Station is the nearest railhead. The sanctuary can be reached from the Dewas Bus Station.
