Thiruvankulam




Thiruvankulam is a small village 10 km north of Tripunithura inErnakulam District. The name Thiruvankulam is derived from the word Thiru-vayaram-kulam, which is linked with a story related to Lord Shiva and Parashuram Muni.

The village has a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Kyomtho Chapel at Thiruvankulam is worth visiting. Chottanikkara Temple is 3 km from Thiruvankulam junction. Kandanad Holy Virgin Mary church (5 km) and St George Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Cathedral at Karingachira (5 km), are the nearby places of worship.

Muvattupuzha is half an hour drive from Thiruvankulam junction.
