Thalassery Fort




Thalasseri Fort is an imposing historical monument situated 22 km from Kannur in Kannur District. The fort stands on a rocky cliff, right on the Muzhappilangad Beach. It was built by the East India Company in 1703 as a testimonial of their colonial imperialism. Thalasseri Fort has massive walls, huge and intricately carved doors and secret tunnels to the sea.

The nearest railhead is Thalassery Railway Station and the closest airport is Calicut Airport. The Brennen cemetery, St Rosary church and the sub collector's bungalow are nearby.
