Tirur River




Tirur River is one of the significant rivers in Kerala. It originates from the Athavanad hills in Tirur town of Malappuram District. Its length extends up to 48 km. Initially, it flows towards south-west up to Thirunavaya and twists its direction towards north-west direction. Again it turns south-west to merge with Bharathapuzha near the port of Ponnani. This river is a division of west coast water transport system.
