Marathakkara Kalari Temple




Marathakkara Kalari Temple is located at Marathakkara, 10 km from Thrissur. The temple was built by the Marathakkara Kalari Kshema Samithy in 1998. The temple deities are Bhuneswary Devi, Veerabhadra Swami, Adimuthassan and Adimuthssi and Thambukutti Muthassan. The main vazhipadu (offering) of the kalari is Malar Nivedya. The temple was renovated in January 2001.

The Marathakkara Kalari, a 400-year-old Kalari, is near to the temple. Other places of worship in the vicinity are Kanakassery Shiva temple and a Roman Catholic Church.

Marathakkara, on Thrissur–Thrikkur route, can be accessed by bus. The nearest railhead is Thrissur Railway Station.
