Arakulam




Arakulam is a small picturesque tourist village in Idukki District formed in 1953. This panchayat has 11 wards and an area of 162,64 km. Nallathanny, Valaketty, Thumbichi, Nadukani, Koumbahghanam, Kunjikannam and Chelickal are the main tourist attractions in this village.

The boating through the Kulamavu Dam, surrounded by thick forests, is an amazing experience for the travelers. The village also has a large area of forest with a variety of animals. The famous Idukki hydro electric project is situated in this panchayat.

There is a helipad at Moolamattom, which is the easiest way to reach Arakulam. Nearest railheads are at Teni and Kottayam. Cochin International Airport and Madurai airport are at distances of 190 km and 140 km.
