Trichakrapuram Sreekrishnaswamy Temple

Trichakrapuram Sreekrishnaswamy Temple or Parakkovil is an ancient shrine situated at Vettamukku, near Thirumala in Thiruvananthapuram. The temple situated on the top of a hillock enshrines Lord Krishna. Separate shrines for Lord Ganesh and Lord Sastha are seen in the temple complex.

Tradition recounts that this area was the exile place of the Pandavas. Locals believe that this divine shrine was constructed by the Pandavas and one can even see the foot prints of Bhim on the hillock.

Devotees must take a flight of 60 stairs to reach this holy temple. Visitors can enjoy the magnificent glimpses of sunset and expanses of green from the top of the hill.

Manippara, a massive boulder which gives out a chiming note when struck, is a major attraction here. Madhava Swamy Ashram is situated nearby. Trivandrum International Airport and Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station are the nearest airport and railway station.
