Punnakamugal Sree Swayampoorna Ashram

Sree Swayampoorna Ashram, a center for harmonizing body, mind and soul, is located at Punnakamugal near Mudavanmugal Kunnu Bungalow in Thiruvananthapuram District of Kerala. Set in the middle of shady mango trees and coconut groves, the ashram has a calm and serene setting. The ashram provides scope for attaining divine inspiration and a spiritual elevation from a lower plane to a higher truth, Jnana, the path of wisdom.

Sree Swayampoorna Ashram is guided by Brahmasree Swaroopananda, the famous disciple of Brahmasree Swayampoorna, the supremo of divine knowledge, who propagated the famous message ‘Arinthathinu Pimp Ullakathodothu Vazhka’ (after attaining divine knowledge be in the company of laymen). Brahmasree Swayampoorna, also called as Aranmula Swamy and Pattalam Swamy, attained Samadhi on October 15, 1966.

The ashram is home to the Samadhi of Brahmasree Swayampoorna. On the top of the Samadhi, a Shivling has been installed, the phallic emblem of supreme creative energy. Regular pujas are conducted in the temple. Yoga and meditation classes are conducted, and bhajan and kirtan (devotional songs) programs are arranged.

Many devotees from India and abroad throng to this place, which is an oasis of peace and tranquility.

The ashram has another center at Maruthuva Malai or Maruda Malai near Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu.
