Madavoorpara

Madavoorpara, also spelt Matavoorpara, is an archeological site in the outskirts of Thiruvananthapuram city. It is about 2 km from Sreekariyam.

The place is famous for a Cave Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The idol of this temple is believed to have been laid by Lord Ram. Since there is a Sastha temple, the place is also known as Sasthavanam. A pair of rock formations, which resemble human figures (one standing and the other sitting), is located near the cave temple.

Madavoorpara is about 12 km from Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station.
