Kerala Aviation Training Center

Trivandrum Flying Club

Kerala Aviation Training Center, popularly known as Trivandrum Flying Club, was established by the Government of India in the year 1951. Situated at Pettah in Thiruvananthapuram, it has been involved in the training of aspiring pilots seeking private and commercial pilot licenses.

Since 1980, this former flying club has been under administration of the Kerala state government. Over the years of its operation, this center has utilized about 10 aircrafts, including 2 gliders, for its service. These trainer aircrafts included the popular Cessna models and a host of indigenous manufactured ones, which include the newly inducted Hansa-series of aircrafts.

The center basically offers three courses which include student pilot license, private pilot license and commercial pilot license. While Private Pilot License (PPL)-requiring 40 flying hours- is for the hobbyist, the Commercial Pilot License (CPL)-requiring 250 flying hours- is meant for those serious about pursuing a career in the airline industry.

Since its inception, Kerala Aviation Training Center has produced exceptional pilots who have been selected for various domestic and international airlines.
