Suddha Maddalam




Suddha Maddalam is a percussion type instrument of Kerala. It is a barrel-shaped drum, longer than the Mridangam. It produces a deep resonant tone. Suddha Maddalam is played exclusively during temple rituals, Kathakali and Mohiniyattam.
