Koothattukulam Town Church is famous for its St Jude's Shrine. It is in
Ernakulam District, by the MC road between Moovattupuzha and
Kottayam. The major event here is the 41-day Grand Feast of St Jude from September 18th to October 28th. The highlight of the celebration is the lighting of the huge oil lamp with 1001 wicks. This blend of Indian and western forms of worship uses a 6 ton, 9 stack, 25 ft tall brass lamp claimed to be the biggest in the world.
