Shri Dharmasastha Temple-Meenthalakara




Shri Dharmasastha Temple is situated at Meenthalakara, about 2 km away from Thiruvalla in Pathanamthitta District. The temple is dedicated to Lord Ayyappa. The main offering done to the deity is Neeranjanam.

Legend tells that Lord Ayyappa, on his daring journey to acquire the breast milk of a lactating tigress, paid homage at Shri Vallabha temple and rested for a while at Meenthalakara. It is said that the temple was rebuilt in 1942.

The temple can be approached on the Thiruvalla-Kozhenchery route. The nearest railhead is Thiruvalla Railway Station.
