Kallidumkunnu

Kallidumkunnu is a sacred place at the summit of Azhutha in Idukki District. It is about 2 km from Azhutha and is believed to be the place where Lord Ayyappa threw the dead body of Mahishi.

The pilgrims to Sabarimala, after a tiresome trek through the Azhutha hill, reach Kallidumkunnu and drop the pebble taken by them from Azhutha River. This ritual is done under the belief that the mortal remains of Mahishi was laid and covered with heap of stones. Now Kallidumkunnu is only a rock of about four feet high.
