Vaniyillam Someshwari Temple is located on Theru-Vaniyillam road, close to Karivellur in Kannur District. The temple is famous for various types of Theyyams including Raktha Chamundi, Angakkulangara Bhagavathi, Kattumoorthy, Veeran Daivam and Karimchamundi. Managed by the Thiyya community, the main attraction of the temple is a festival held in the Malayalam month
Medam. Different types of Theyyams are performed during the festival. The main idol of Devi is made of five metals and is erected on a wooden stand. Vettakkoru Makan is also worshipped here.
