Pathiramanal




Pathiramanal is a small bewitching island in the Vembanad Lake. It is a haven of hundreds of rare migratory birds. This island lies between Thanneermukkom and Kumarakom and is accessible by boat only.

The green island thus forms an ideal place for a break in the journey while on backwater cruise.

The traditional story behind this island is that as soon as a young Brahmin boy plunge into Vembanad Lake to take his bath, the water made way for land to rise from below, thus creating the island of Pathiramanal. Pathiramanal beach is an ideal place for a water journey.

The nearest airport is the Cochin International Airport and the nearest railway station is the Alappuzha Railway Station.
