Pandimelam is a traditional orchestra mostly played on special occasions in temples. The instruments used for Pandimelam and Pancharimelam are almost the same. Chenda is the main instrument used in Pandimelam. The notable specialty of Pandimelam is that chenda is struck by using only one stick. Another implication is kuzhal, which is sung in Bhairav Raga. Other instruments are kombu and ilathalam.
