Thondikulam

Thondikulam village is about 2 km from Palakkad and is one of the small agraharams of Palakkad District. Most of the inhabitants here are Tamil Brahmins and are known by the name 'Thondies.'

Ayyappa Temple on Tank Street, Venkatachalapathy Temple, Ganapathy Temple and Ayyappa Temple at Muthikulam are the major shrines of the village. There is a large pond in front of the Ayyappa temple of Tank Street, which is used by the residents of the village as well as all those in the neighboring places.

Thondikulam celebrates many festivals associated with the temples. The Ratholsavam, famous as is known in most parts of South India, is celebrated during the April-May month. Thousands of people, from all over Kerala, congregate to celebrate this festival amidst great pageantry. Sastha Preethi is another festival celebrated in the Ayyappa Temple.
