Walayar




Walayar, a colourful location with lush greenery, imposing mountains, rivers and forests is on the National Highway between Coimbatore and Palakkad. Walayar is one among the six busiest border check posts, the other ones being Manjeswar, Muthanga and Amaravila which get a revenue collection of over a crore of rupees every day. Walayar Dam constructed across the river Walayar, a tributary of the Bharathapuzha is nearby. Local attractions include Loknayak J P Smrithi Vanam and Deer Park, Malabar Cements and Choolanur Peacock Sanctuary. Walayar Railway Station and C A Coimbatore Airport are the nearest access points.
