Mukuthala




Mukuthala is a bewitching village located at 3 km away from Chakkaramkulam in Malappuram District. This village is popularly known as Mukkolakkal.

The literal meaning of the word Mukkolakkal is the merging point of three streets. The three streets joining here are Thekkumuri, Vadakkumuri and Kaniyur. Major point of attraction at Mukuthala is an ancient temple named Mukuthala Bhagawathy Temple. This temple is believed to have been consecrated by Adi Sankara, the great spiritual leader of Kerala. During the Navartri Festival, a large number of devotees crowd at Mukuthala.

Regular buses are available from Malappuram Bus Station. The nearest railway station is Tirur Railway Station. Cochin International Airport is the nearest airport.
