Cheruthoni




Cheruthoni is an interesting tourist place situated about 5 km from Painavu, the headquarters of Idukki District in Kerala. It is the junction where ThodupuzhaKumily road intersect with AdimaliKattappana road.

This land of pristine forests and green hills is perched at an altitude of 1194 m above sea level. Major point of attraction here is the Cheruthoni Dam, the third highest dam in India, which is an ideal destination for nature lovers.

Excursions to Idukki Wildlife Sanctuary at Kuyilimala and Hill View Park will be an enchanting experience. Malikuth Waterfalls is located 15 km east of Cheruthoni at Vathikudy.

The nearest railway stations are at Kottayam and Ernakulam. Cochin International Airport is the nearest airport. Boating facilities are available between Cheruthoni and Kulamavu.
