Marthoma Mandapam




Marthoma Mandapam is located atop the Malayattoor hill, at a height of 609 m, in Ernakulam District of Kerala. It is an elegant and attractive building in the Greco-Indian architecture style.

This building preserves the precious relics of St Thomas. The construction of the edifice was done in such a manner that relic is placed twenty steps above the ground. This symbolize the twenty years of St Thomas's missionary works in south India.

Malayatoor Church, Golden Cross at Kurishadi and Sannidhi are the attractions in the vicinity.

By road, the mandapam can be approached from Kochi, which is about 47 km away. Malayattoor is about 10 km to the north-east of Kaladi. The nearest railway station is at Angamaly.
