Ranni is a beautiful town located about 25 km from
Chengannur. It is one of the major tourist destinations in
Pathanamthitta District. With numerous waterfalls, rocks and uniquely rich flora and fauna, Ranni is ideal for nature lovers. It has about 9 reservoirs and is accessible only by road.
The place protects tigers, bison, large number of elephants and various types of monkeys. Sabarimala, the most famous pilgrimage center of Kerala, is easily accessible from here. It is believed that the Apostle of Christ, St Thomas, visited and blessed the place with his presence. Many ancient temples, churches and fortresses including Thalapara Fort, Ingippara Fort and Kairimala Fort are worth visiting.
Trivandrum International Airport is about 125 km from here. The nearest railway station is Chengannur Railway Station.
