Manarcad




Manarcad is a village situated at a distance of about 10 km east of Kottayam. This place is famous for the Manarcad Church, known by the name St Mary’s Church. The Manarcad Perunal is also the most important festival, which is the eight day fast in honor of St Mary. This feast falls in September when devotees throng the church in large numbers. There is also a century old Bhagavathy Temple, dedicated to Goddess Bhadrakali.

Buses ply frequently from Kottayam to Manarcad. The nearest railway station is at Kottayam and the airport is Cochin International Airport (76 km).
