Kunchan Smarakam




Kunchan Smarakam is a national monument located at Killikurrussi Mangalam, about 50km from Palakkad. It is dedicated to Kalakkath Kunchan Nambiar, the inventor of the famous art form Thullal.

Thunchan Day, which is celebrated on the 5th of May, is the main attraction. The Navaratri festival is also celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm. Various courses on Ottanthullal, Seethamkan Thullal and Parayan Thullal have been started in this monument. It also houses an auditorium and a library.
