Kulathuppuzha



Famed for the Shastha Temple (Lord Ayyappa), Kulathuppuzha is an important pilgrimage center for Ayyappa devotees. The place has an extensive forest range and is famous for elephants. Reed, a raw material used for paper manufacturing, is found in abundance in the forests. The Vishu Mahotsava held during the months of April-May is an important festival.

Kulathuppuzha is 10 km south of Thenmala railway station and is located on the Thiruvananthapuram-Shencottai road. It is also accessible from Kollam town, which is 64 km away.
