Vennimala Sri Rama-Laksmana Temple




Vennimala Sri Rama-Laksmana Temple is an ancient temple located at Vennimala, on the western boundary of Pampady in Kottayam District. Lying at a hillock, the temple is about 1500 ft high from sea level. The Cheraman Perumal, Bhaskara Revivarma, built this temple.

The specialty of the temple is that it is surrounded by a number of wells and ponds. Shadkala Govinda Marar, a famous Sopana musician was born near the temple in Pulikkal house. Devotees perform the ritual, Vavubali, an offering to the ancestors in the Malayalam month of Karkidakom (July-August).
