State Highway 16

Aluva - Munnar Highway



State Highway 16 is a 114 km-long stretch that runs from Aluva on National Highway 47 up to the enchanting hill station of Munnar, in Idukki District. State Highway 16 originates at Aluva and runs eastwards touching Ponjasseri, Vazhakulam, Perumbavoor on the M C Road and then in the south-east direction through Koovapady and Assamannur to reach Kothamangalam. The remaining part of the road - that runs through Neriamangalam junction, Chenappara Waterfalls, Deviyar bridge, Adimali, Kallar River and Pallivasal up to Munnar - now forms a part of the National Highway 49. The State Highway 17 starts from the State Highway 16 at Munnar.
