Kumbham, literally meaning ‘Pot’, is the 7th month of the Malayalam calendar. According to the Gregorian calendar, it falls between mid February and mid March. The sun enters the Aquarius sign during this month.
Most of the temple festivals in Kerala are celebrated in this month. Uthralikavu Pooram, Ettumanoor Mahadeva Temple Festival and Bharani Festival at Chettikulangara Sree Bhagavathi Temple are significant among them.
