St Augustine's church




St Augustine's Church is located at Kadanad, a small town situated to the north of Pala in Kottayam District. Built in 1820, it is one of the leading churches of the Pala Diocese. The notable feature of the church is its sanctuary, which is carved from wood with golden slides. Darasana Thirunal is the main feast, which is held on the 15th and 16th of January every year. The festival is attended by thousands of people from all parts of the state. St Augustine's church operates a lower primary school, a higher secondary school, primary health center and the Donbosco poor home. The nearest major railhead is Kottayam Railway Station.
