Patakam Dance




Patakam Dance is usually performed in temples of Kerala. It is a ritual art similar to Koothu in gestures and movements, but the narration is through prose and song sequences.

Performer wears red head dress, red silk wrist band and heavy garlands around the neck. Thick lines of sandal paste are smeared across the forehead.

Patakam is also performed out side the temple.
