Chaliyar River has its course through Edavanna. There is a government rest house at Edavanna, where accommodations are provided. Kiluparamba and Arikkod (towards west), Wandoor and Nilambur (east) and Trikkalangode (south) are the towns around the place.

Calicut Airport is the nearest airport. Nilambur Railway Station is the railhead nearby. Kozhikode Railway Station is the nearest major railhead. The state highway, Koilandy-Thamarassery–Mukkom–Areakode-Edavanna Road meets with Kozhikode-Nilambur-Gudalloor Highway and forms a junction at Edavanna.
