Mala, once the colony of Jews, is a small sleepy hamlet situated near Kodungallur in Thrissur District. The verdant landscape, mountains and rivers make this place a haven from the rush of city life. The Mala Synagogue is situated near Mala. Pambummekkattumana, a serpent grove under the control of Pambummekkattu Namboothiri is in the close vicinity. Mala is around 6 km west of Kodungallur and 10 km north of Irinjalakuda. Karuvapadna (7 km west), Angamaly (15 km east) and Parur (11 km south) are the nearest cities. Kodungallur Bhagavathy Temple is situated nearby. Cochin International Airport is the nearest to Mala. Mala is well-connected by road with all major destinations in the state. The nearest major railway station is Thrissur Railway Station.
