Yadgir




Yadgir is a town in Gulbarga District in north Karnataka. It is a place of historical importance. Once ruled by the Kalyani Chalukyas and Adil Shahi Sultans, Yadgir is dotted with many historical relics. It has a majestic hill fort with three rounds of fortifications. There are three ancient temples, medieval mosques, tanks and wells on top of the hill. The barren landscape below offers a magnificent view. Yadgir, 71 km from Gulbarga, is approachable by road and rail. Yadgir has its own railway station. State Highway 15 passes through Yadgir.
