Turuvekere




Turuvekere is a small scenic town located in the Tumkur District of Karnataka. This town is famous for the beautiful sculptures found in the nearby temples. Turuvekere, the architectural town, is home to three famous temples which contain inscriptions belonging to the Hoysala period. The Gangadhareswara Temple, an epitome of fine piece of sculpture, has a large recumbent bull, carved in black stone. Sira, Yediyur, Devarayanadurga and Lakshmikanthaswamy Temple are the nearby tourist places.

The nearest railhead, Tumkur Railway Station is on Bangalore-Tumkur rail line. Bangalore International Airport is the closest airport.
