Shri Durgambha Temple




Shri Durgambha Temple is an ancient shrine situated at Puttur, about 3 km north-west of Udupi, in Karnataka. It is a 13th century shrine dedicated to Goddess Durga. The idol of the deity is in the form of a stone-vessel.

Shri Durgambha Temple is believed to have been built by Parashuram. Special Pujas and rituals are offered here.

Sri Lakshmi Venkatesh Temple situated nearby is worth visiting.

Shri Durgambha Temple can be reached by bus from Kollur, Dharmasthala and Mangalore. Udupi Railway Station is the nearest major railhead.
