Arkera




Famous for custard apples, Arkera is around 65 km south-west of Raichur. This picturesque place lies in a remote area of Deodurg taluk in Raichur District, Karnataka. Deodurg is 20 km north of Arkera.

A hillock adjacent to the village, which was once filled with rocks and wild grass and shrubs, has now been turned into a green lush land. Fruit bearing trees and medicinal plants are cultivated on the hillock. There is a temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman and Maremma, the village goddess. The hillock is also dotted with several other monuments.

The place is an ideal weekend getaway.

Hubli Airport is the nearest airport. Nearest railhead is Raichur Railway Station.
