Polali




Polali is a pilgrim spot situated about 34 km from Mangalore, in Dakshina Kannada District of Karnataka. It is situated at the distance of about 200 yards from the Gurpur River.

Major point of attraction here is the Sri Rajarajeshwari Temple, a well-known center of Shakti worship. From a short inscription found recently, the temple is believed to be built in 8th century AD.

Polali Chendu is a unique festival in the temple, which lasts for a month. A football tournament is held as an important event of the festival.

Polali is about 72 km from Udupi.
