Pata Kunitha




Pata Kunitha is a folk dance form of Karnataka, performed mainly by men. It is carried out using tall bamboo poles, measuring about 10 to 15 ft high. The poles are decorated with colored ribbons and crowned with tiny silver or brass umbrella. Narration has little significance in this dance form.

Usually this dance form is performed by 10 to 15 artistes and is popular in Mysore District.
