Saundatti



Saundatti was the erstwhile capital of the Rattas and a famous pilgrim center. A fort on its hill was built in 1734 by Jayagaunda Desai. The Renukasagar waters flows through the borders of this town. There are temples of Ankeshwara, Puradeshwara, Mallikarjuna, Venkateshwara and Veerabhadra. The famous Yellamma Temple is a few kilometers away from here.
