Honnavar




An important town in Uttara Kannada District, Honnavar is famous for its beaches and the fabulous dance drama form, Yakshagana. Honnavar is 200 km north of Mangalore.

A long rail bridge across the Sharavati River, constructed as part of the Konkan Railway is a major attraction. Other tourist attractions include the ‘Apsara Konda Falls’ (Pond of the Celestial Nymphs) set in a picturesque location and the Ganpathi Temple at Idagunji.

Honnavar Railway Station is an important railhead on the Konkan Railway.
