Malpe




Malpe is the most important port of the Karnataka coast and is situated at the mouth of the Udyavara River. The place is well known for its exquisite beaches and islands. One of the two well known Shankaranarayana temples of the district is situated in the tiny hamlet of Kodavuru. The Vadabhandeshwara Temple dedicated to Sri Balarama is also famous.

This fast growing fishing town is about 7 km to the west of Udupi. It is 65 km from Mangalore Bajpe Airport, 5 km from NH 17 and 8 km from Udupi Railway Station.
