Yediyur

Temple Town



Yediyur, 52 km from Tumkur, is a famous place of pilgrimage. The place houses a famous temple of Siddhalingeshwara and a samadhi mutt of Tontada Siddhalingeshwara Yati, a revered Veerashaiva Saint. The Samadhi mutt has a fine, carved wooden chariot and some interesting old paintings on the walls. The place also has a Varadaraja temple and two Veerashaiva Mutts.

The ratha festival is held during the festival season.

Yediyur is about 100 km from Bangalore. The nearest airport is Bangalore International Airport.
