Kadambeshwara Temple




Kadambeshwara Temple or Kadambeshwara Devalaya, as it is popularly known , is a highly revered shrine at Rattihalli in Haveri District of Karnataka. The 'Pancha Lingas of Eshwara' were installed here by the Kadambas. Later a temple was constructed around these idols by the Hoysalas.

Sculptured by Jakanachari, Kadambeshwara Temple boasts many beautiful towers and monuments. The carvings on the walls of the temple are noted for their excellence.

An annual fair held in chaitramasa (April-May) attracts thousands of people to this pilgrim spot. Durga Devi Temple, Eshwara Temple, Kamala Devi temple, Panduranga Temple, Venkateshwara temple, Tulaja Bhavani Temple are other places of worship in the vicinity.

By road, Kadambeshwara Temple can be approached from Haveri which is on the National Highway 4, between Hubli and Davangere. By rail, the nearest access point is Haveri Railway Station.
