Bhagvati is situated in Uttara Kannada District of Karnataka and about 12 km north of Kirvatti, a town on National Highway 63.

Other major places nearby include Kervad to the west, Sambrani to the north, Devikoppa to the east and Kannigeri to the south.

Bhagvati is around 90 km east of Karwar, the district headquarters, and 50 km south of Hubli. Nearest airport is Hubli Airport and railhead is Dandeli Railway Station.
