Ulavi




Located amidst thick forest, Ulavi is a famous pilgrimage center for Veerashaivas in Uttara Kannada District of Karnataka. The prominent attraction is the Samadhi of Channabasavanna, who lived here during the 12th century associated with Veerashaiva religious movement.

Baburayana Kote (a ruined fort) and Gavi Matha, a series of caves are in this place. A trek to Aakalagavi, about 3 km from Ulavi, is another place of tourist interest.

Ulavi is 58 km from Dandeli and 90 km from Karwar. Dandeli Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
