Kali River

Originating from the trans Himalayan zone, River Kali forms a continuous border with Nepal during its course from Kalapani to Tanakpur. In the plains, it is called Sharda. The river possesses an immense potential in irrigational and hydro electric generation and hence is the proposed site of a massive dam at Pancheshwar. It finally merges with the Ganges.
