British Cemetery

British Cemetery lies within the compound of the Detachment Project Seabird at Baithkol near Karwar, in Karnataka. Karwar is a port town, on the banks of the Kali River, about 519 km north-west of Bangalore.

This cemetery is maintained by the Parish Priest of the Down Church, Karwar. There are 24 graves, which are well classified and have the words written in memory of the dead persons. Some belong to Europeans, who had left their homeland on a mission to expand their colonial empires.

Since this cemetery comes under the Indian Navy's Project Seabird Campus, entry to here is subject to the permission from the Defense Authorities.

Karwar Railway Station, the nearest railhead, is under the control of Konkan Railways.
