Sri Ananthapadmanabha Temple




Sri Ananthapadmanabha Temple is situated at Hebri near Karkala in Udupi District. The main deity of the temple is Lord Ananthapadmanabha (Lord Vishnu). The idol in standing form is made up of beautiful black granite. The temple also possesses a temple cart (Ratha). Every year, starting from the day of Kumbha Sankramana, a festival called Gounothsava is celebrated here with great fervor. It extends for about five days. In the temple premises, the shrines of Kshethrapala, Khadga Ravana and Dhoomavathi are also present.
